Many Advantages

"To be wise is as good as being rich; in fact, it is better. You can get anything by either wisdom or money, but being wise has many advantages" Ecc. 7:11-12.  Our society has been made to believe that riches, that is money is the ultimate. The search for wisdom has been truncated and termed futile. No wonder Kogi state, even with its 29 mineral resources deposit available in commercial quantities, still manage to be so under developed. Each of the 21 LGAs has at least 2 mineral deposits. Kogi  holds reserves of at least 99 million tonnes of coal, enough to supply all of Nigeria power for 400 years. The limestone in Kogi can accommodate 3 giant-sized cement factories (with over 15 million tonnes annual capacity) operational for an unbroken stretch of 99 years. That is one state out of 36 states! But yet we choose to chase oil money. We have neglected the many advantages we would accumulate if we pursue after wisdom. Our policy making processes have been greatly...

FINISH

Although starting is difficult, but once you start things ease off. Finishing a thing is more glorious! I wonder if our Nigerian politicians have come across this theory, because every time a politician is campaigning for an office he is glorious, but after their tenure Nigerians hiss in disdain, displeasure and disappointment. “Finishing is better than starting! Patience is better than Pride!” Ecc. 7:8. Projects in Nigeria are quick to be discussed, quick to be awarded but oftentimes 90% of the projects approved and awarded are abandoned. Abandoned projects! Abandoned projects!! Abandoned projects!!! Is it not more glorious to say, “In my tenure, I finished this and that, rather than I started several projects and couldn’t finish them”. When shall we have a government that will realize that, starting is not as crucial, important and delicate as ending? The glory is not in having several projects, but in having one project at a time that is finished in due time and at the ri...

A PRODUCTIVE COMMUNITY

“But other seeds fell on good soil and produced a crop, some 100, some 60, and some 30 times what was sown” For seven years, I concentrated on a particular research, my obsession was directed towards the growth, development and industrialization of Nigeria. That obsession is still fresh till today. In 2014, I published a book with scientific models for sustainable development titled, “ The Journey to Industrialization ” . As usual a few friends laughed at me, they say Nigeria is in peril, beyond repair. But I disagree! In 2016, a formula designed for a productive citizen, clan, religious congregation, community and country followed suite. Here is the formula; P c = C(S L + E L + D L + I L + R L )(1 + r/n) nt . Look and study the formula above, it is our strategy for a new and productive Nigeria. I shall not be deterred by those who say Nigeria is beyond repair because I believe there is a good soil and there are good seeds and they have started producing. I shall not be d...

Heavy Heart

“Laughter cannot mask a heavy heart. When the laughter ends, the grief remains” Face your challenge, do not avoid it! Some challenges may fade away after a while but often times they resurface. Therefore the best strategy is to face your challenge either by synergy or by yourself. Never allow someone else face your challenge for you. They are robbing you off your blessings. Whenever you face a challenge, you come out stronger, you come out more knowledgeable, you come out more experienced and you come out victorious. Here is a story of a young man born 1984, father died 1999, mother died 2010, yet he finished BSc after fathers’ death, Finished MSc after mothers’ death: self-financed. He wrote two story books before he was fifteen, he has written over two hundred poems, he has at least twelve scripts, he has written two books, won state award of excellence during the National Youth Service Corps program, he also won National hero’s award by Covenant Ministerial Chaplaincy, trav...

Business First

“Develop your business first before building your house” First things first; business before pleasure. God gave Adam his work description in the Old Testament before he presented him with a wife. Everyone goes through a series of education and training before he is employed for an opportunity to apply his knowledge. This means we all need to establish our occupation first before we rest. What is your business? What are you known for? What is it you are very good at doing? In Africa, especially my country Nigeria, we love pleasure a lot, to a point we have neglected work. So many of us grow old not knowing exactly what our core business in this world is meant to be. We have houses, beautiful houses but yet no unique identity. It is so bad, that as it stands now, so many Nigerians do not know how to work. The truth! Nigerians, please develop your business, your occupation, your name, your skill, your ability, your workmanship, your industry, your product, your service, your ...

Ourselves

Then they said, "Come let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the earth." Is there any country in the world, where you won't find a Nigerian? Don't you think this is because we have refused to come together and build for ourselves a comfortable and all encompassing city? We fail to aim for a goal that is bigger than us. Finally, we have also failed to realize the importance of a name and that a good name is more precious than riches. In productivity, a product is attached to a personality. 10% buy the product not minding the personality of the producer, 90% buy a product because of the personality behind the product among other factors. These days people do not want to openly associate with demerits, failures, corrupt, etc.  Imagine this scenario; the conceptual view of some countries of Nigeria is that they are 'FANTASTICALLY CORRUPT', what do y...

Living Right

1 Thessalonians 5:14, "My friends, we beg you to warn anyone who isn't living right. Encourage anyone who feels left out, help all who are weak, and be patient with everyone" Share the work, share the wealth and help those who fall down. All fingers are not equal, but each finger is useful and unique, so be patient. Not everyone will be like you, you cannot be like everyone also. we all need each other to be complete. Don't let anyone feel inferior, tell them how special they are in their own way. Be warned; stop wrong living, live right and be right. Please, join Young Charles on the industrialization journey. Thank you.

Punish

Proverbs 19:18, "Correct your children before its too late; if you don't punish them, you are destroying them" Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. Punishments are the best tools for correction, but my country is a place where people do evil and evade punishment. What values are we teaching our children? What precepts are we laying for our young ones? #Bring Back The Rod# Do you want to sanitize the nation? #Bring Back The Rod# Do you want a better future? #Bring Back The Rod# Do you want continuous Peace and Joy? #Bring Back The Rod# The pains of the rod is only but for a moment, but the benefits are everlasting. Love of Money

Hebrews 13:5, " Keep your lives free from the love of money," 1 Timothy 6:10, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil." The challenge of Nigeria is not necessarily tribalism, nepotism, religious segmentation or any other rancor. The major challenge of Nigeria is making our oil wealth the centre of our lives. Our love for money makes us fall into temptations and traps us to foolish and harmful desires that plunge us into ruin and destruction. They fail to realize that whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the rigtheous will flourish like a green leaf. Hear this; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions, but in the proceeds directly or indirectly of his extravagant generosity towards others, that is, How much he helps others? especially strangers. Please join Charles Young as he advocates for the journey towards industrialization.

Togetherness

Hebrews 10:25, “let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the day approaching” Imagine this scenario, “a peaceful co-existence between different tribes and diverse tongues in Nigeria. One in which citizens are free to worship in whatever religion they prefer. Imagine where government sectors, educational sectors, private sectors and artisans come together and collaborate to achieve our national goal” Wait a minute, do we even have a national goal? Are citizens aware of the goal? Are we constantly meeting together to deliberate the achievement of the goal? Are we all concerned about the individual wealth immersed or the willingness to let go for the attainment of our goal? Join me, Together we can change Nigeria.

Good advice

Prov. 15:22, “without good advice everything goes wrong – it takes careful planning for things to go right” Who is advising you? Be Careful! The heart of men are desperately wicked, and good advice can only emancipate from a good heart. Before you can be advised, you must be good, have knowledge of what you want to do and where you are going. With these you can filter every advice and know which will help you achieve your aim. Advice is not enough: either good or bad. One must know how to sit and plan every activity, project and programme that accomplishes a policy. Therefore, the right mindset + right advice + right planning = right achievements. Join me let us industrialize the nation.

Chimezirim

Do you know who you are? Sometimes the meaning of your name portrays who you are. To me Nigeria means a "Precious Area" this ideology makes me value my country more. My name is Young Chimezirim Charles and this is what someone says my name means, "someone who is endowed with the wonderful characteristic of multi-talents and versatility. Chimezirim can do so many things well. Chimezirim will likely be the master of adaptability and change. Chimezirim is good at presenting ideas and knowing how to approach people to get what Chimezirim wants. Naturally, this gives Chimezirim an edge in any sort of selling game and spells easy success when it comes to working with people in most jobs. His popularity may lead Chimezirim toward some form of entertainment or amusement. Whatever Chimezirim does, Chimezirim is clever, analytical, and a very quick thinker. Very adaptable and versatile. Chimezirim has a natural resourcefulness and enthusiasm that may mark him as a progressive ...

The Change Policy

2 Corinthians 4:18, "The things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal." Holding on to the visible change alone is not sustainable, why? you may change the situation of power, change the conditions of the roads, revive the rail system, revamp industries and transform the business environment to a favourable one. If you do not solidify and fortify for the unseen war, all the physical change will come crumbling down. The real change, is the mindset change, policy change and proper reorientation. we need to develop a new concept of Nigeria in the minds of the citizens, we need to make them believe in Nigeria. We need to increase their level of Patriotism and ordain millions of change agents. Do you want change? transform yourself: only then can you transform Nigeria and beyond. Please Join Young Charles as he advocates for the journey towards industrialization. Share my blog with your friends. For public speaking on productivity plea...

Book Review - The Journey to Industrialization by Victor Afamefuna Ozodinobi Col (rtd) Former Military Administrator, Borno State.

The Journey to Industrialization has been structured into five interesting headings. Each of these headings is very important for the government at all levels, industrial policymakers, and tertiary institutions. The book deals with the history of many industrial nations of the world and other emerging markets such as Brazil and Singapore. Any nation whose leaders fail to learn from the past has no journey to make into industrialization. Nigeria has a lot to learn about industrialization from Singapore and Malaysia whose living standard or economies were below that of Nigeria in the early 1960’s. The question Nigerians should ask is what went wrong? Nigerian founding fathers laid a good foundation for industrial and agricultural developments in the 60’s. In 1960’s Nigeria was on its way to industrial development which was pushed vigorously by the then three (3) regions – Northern, Eastern and Western regions. Nigeria was prominent in the world in many agricultural products vis-a...

HIGHER PRICES

Prov 11:26, "People curse the man who holds his grain for higher prices, but they bless the man who sells it to them in their time of need." Is Nigeria being cursed? For several years it has become a custom to deny the needy basic amenities either by hoarding, price hike, selfish purchases and/or the provision of substandard goods. Fuel prices must go up, it must be hoarded and most times adulterated substances are sold. This results in the poor not being able to buy fuel, they have to park their cars and enter public transport. Their efficiency and productivity level drops. Those who don't have vehicles and can't pay for public transport trek, also reducing their efficiency and productivity level. So many who do not have jobs and money die of starvation and frustration. Yet it is OK to purchase a car at 36 million, meanwhile we haven't totally solved the issue of fuel scarcity. Do you know how many industries and supportive refineries 1.3 billion would plant...

Good Men

Prov 2:21, "For only good men enjoy life to the full." Being good is the best policy. A good man's name is a legacy. Its not easy to be good, evil men want to make you their partners so they can drag you into walking down dark and evil paths. They want to soil your name. Do you want to be a good man? Do you want to enjoy life to the full? Seek wisdom! Wisdom will give you sense to stay away from evil men. Being good is painful, unfair or daunting. Don't worry, the evil men will loose the good things they might have had, and they themselves shall be destroyed.  Please Join Young Charles as he advocates for the journey towards industrialization. Stamp Out Evil

Prov. 20:26, “A wise King stamps out crime by severe punishment” Crime in Nigeria is very high. A group of people are exempted from punishment, some people are specially pardoned, some others are not even questioned at all, while some others do not know the difference between crime, corruption, evil and being good. These special people are the exceptionally rich politicians, public officers and popular artists. Meanwhile, if a poor citizen should commit a crime he would be torn apart. No wonder my grandfather advised my father, who in turn advised me, saying,"My son do not steal, do not commit crime at all, ever! but if you must, make sure it is worth more than Five (5) billion, only then will your punishment be FREEDOM" Imagine! Numbers

Prov. 14:28, “A growing population is a kings glory; a dwindling nation is his doom” Population is not our problem. A stick of broom can easily be broken but a bunch of broom is difficult to break. Our problem is disunity. Disunity in two diverse levels; Tribalism, and Religious segmentation. In fact even the educated discriminate the illiterate. We need to learn how to accommodate each other, synergize well and form a formidable team. Let us not weaken ourselves with nepotism, selfishness and greed. Imagine this, where one person can overcome, produce and educate one thousand others, what will a congregation of like minded-united one hundred and seventy million people do? Exploits! Work

Prov. 14:23, “Work brings profit; talk brings poverty” When most of our time is spent on social media; Facebook, Whatsapp, 2go, BBM, etc, chatting without pulling in a reasonable income, that is poverty! When we spend time conversing about the ills of leadership, politics and religion, that is poverty! When we spend time thinking about the things that don't work, that too is definitely poverty! Ah! When we sit and talk endlessly about soccer or football, that is definitely poverty. Also, when we do not have anything to contribute to the changing and transformation process of the Nation, that is the highest poverty level! We all need to be action oriented, get to work! Don't just sit there, do something and do it quick, in fact! Do it now. The producers of the social media apps, the politicians, religious heads, soccer players and managers are not poor. Why waste time talking about them? Why not be productive, thinking productive, speaking productive? Let your hands get d...

Peculiarity

Prov. 14:10, “Only the person involved can know his own bitterness or joy – no one else can really share it” Tackling life issues can best be handled by you. I mean by yourself! Contracting it out may result to so many things like, it may not meet your standard, it may not be done with the same zeal as you would have done it, it may also lack the need of urgency and it will definitely cost you more. So why pay more and receive in short supply? Of course, there would be need for counsel, advisers to guide you aright. If you need advice, please stay away from fools. It is more prestigious to seek for counsel on how to do things and work towards doing things yourself. If you fail, Try! Try!! and Try again. Truth be told, “no one can understand us better than ourselves, therefore let us all learn to do things by ourselves.” Please Join Charles Young as he advocates for the Journey towards Industrialization. 08033096760, twitter: @jawsyoung and BBM: 7aa184a8.
