Many Advantages

"To be wise is as good as being rich; in fact, it is better. You can get anything by either wisdom or money, but being wise has many advantages" Ecc. 7:11-12.  Our society has been made to believe that riches, that is money is the ultimate. The search for wisdom has been truncated and termed futile. No wonder Kogi state, even with its 29 mineral resources deposit available in commercial quantities, still manage to be so under developed. Each of the 21 LGAs has at least 2 mineral deposits. Kogi  holds reserves of at least 99 million tonnes of coal, enough to supply all of Nigeria power for 400 years. The limestone in Kogi can accommodate 3 giant-sized cement factories (with over 15 million tonnes annual capacity) operational for an unbroken stretch of 99 years. That is one state out of 36 states! But yet we choose to chase oil money. We have neglected the many advantages we would accumulate if we pursue after wisdom. Our policy making processes have been greatly...

FINISH

Although starting is difficult, but once you start things ease off. Finishing a thing is more glorious! I wonder if our Nigerian politicians have come across this theory, because every time a politician is campaigning for an office he is glorious, but after their tenure Nigerians hiss in disdain, displeasure and disappointment. “Finishing is better than starting! Patience is better than Pride!” Ecc. 7:8. Projects in Nigeria are quick to be discussed, quick to be awarded but oftentimes 90% of the projects approved and awarded are abandoned. Abandoned projects! Abandoned projects!! Abandoned projects!!! Is it not more glorious to say, “In my tenure, I finished this and that, rather than I started several projects and couldn’t finish them”. When shall we have a government that will realize that, starting is not as crucial, important and delicate as ending? The glory is not in having several projects, but in having one project at a time that is finished in due time and at the ri...

A PRODUCTIVE COMMUNITY

“But other seeds fell on good soil and produced a crop, some 100, some 60, and some 30 times what was sown” For seven years, I concentrated on a particular research, my obsession was directed towards the growth, development and industrialization of Nigeria. That obsession is still fresh till today. In 2014, I published a book with scientific models for sustainable development titled, “ The Journey to Industrialization ” . As usual a few friends laughed at me, they say Nigeria is in peril, beyond repair. But I disagree! In 2016, a formula designed for a productive citizen, clan, religious congregation, community and country followed suite. Here is the formula; P c = C(S L + E L + D L + I L + R L )(1 + r/n) nt . Look and study the formula above, it is our strategy for a new and productive Nigeria. I shall not be deterred by those who say Nigeria is beyond repair because I believe there is a good soil and there are good seeds and they have started producing. I shall not be d...
