ENTREPRENEURIAL LESSONS FROM DeeTouch

We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the word of life. – 1 John 1:1

Firsthand experience is the key to achieving a productive and industrialized nation. For a long time, Nigeria has been neglecting the importance of “work of our Hands” by its citizens. Nigeria needs people who have not only heard of our problems, but people who have seen the problem and entangle themselves with the course of solving the problem.

The other day I watched a bride preparing for marriage, I thought, “how can she lay down her guard and allow a stranger mutilate her face with chemicals all in the name of make-up?” This was her reply, “I have known her works, they are splendid and all her works are for good” Wow! That means if I want a job done, I must recruit people with a history of achievement, People who are committed, people who are capable and People whose interest are at stake.

When the make-up artist was done, I went to meet her, to hear her story and I was confronted with her complimentary card, that revealed her name as DeeTouch and her number as +234 708 9930 338. I smiled, “you are confident. How do you perform these magic?” it’s not magic she said, “It takes hard work, practice and the art-skill to perfect such a feat. Do you know I have to exfoliate the skin a day before, She kept on speaking, I prime the eyes, line the inner waterlines, lay foundations, apply highlighters, set contours with a concealer and then set the face with a fixing spray.”

By the time she was done talking, I was dumbfounded and lost in thoughts. And I reached a conclusion, “if make-up which is a temporary measure to enhance the beauty of a face goes through a lot of rigorous steps to reach a magnificent end, how much more work does Nigeria need to fix its many problems,” A LOT!

Why then do we sit and allow people who haven’t heard, who haven’t seen, who have no interest at stake, who have no history of achievement, who are not committed, who are not capable and who haven’t touched the problem of Nigeria firsthand to be at the fore front in solving our problems.

Mr. President, Governors and every other officer in Nigeria: Young blood is strong blood, fresh input is fresh output, and you cannot continue recycling the same old officials and expect CHANGE or TRANSFORMATION. How can you believe a false statement that says, “Nigerian youths are not employable” when we have not been given a chance to prove ourselves, come and test me and know if I am capable or not! Nigerian youths are capable, we are ready to work, we are ready to do exploits and we are achievers, FIND US.

Please Join Young Chimezirim Charles to promote productivity and Industrialization in Nigeria. Thank you DeeTouch for the inspiration.
