FINISH
Although starting is difficult,
but once you start things ease off. Finishing a thing is more glorious! I wonder
if our Nigerian politicians have come across this theory, because every time a
politician is campaigning for an office he is glorious, but after their tenure
Nigerians hiss in disdain, displeasure and disappointment. “Finishing is better than starting! Patience is better than Pride!” Ecc. 7:8.
Projects in Nigeria are quick to
be discussed, quick to be awarded but oftentimes 90% of the projects approved
and awarded are abandoned. Abandoned projects! Abandoned projects!! Abandoned projects!!!
Is it not more glorious to say, “In my tenure, I finished this and that, rather
than I started several projects and couldn’t finish them”. When shall we have a
government that will realize that, starting is not as crucial, important and
delicate as ending?
The glory is not in having
several projects, but in having one project at a time that is finished in due
time and at the right cost. The end of a matter is better than the beginning. Ending
a matter requires more perseverance, more controls, monitoring and constant
evaluation in humility.
There is no pride associated with
unfinished endeavours. We have all been made complete, therefore let us take
pride in completing all we intend to start and all we have already started. New
ideology: yes we must start projects, but we must not concentrate on what we
have started, let us leave the glory for the end. When we have finished!
We started a nation based on
sound policies, now we are at the verge of losing that nation. We started
industries that are no longer functioning. Please is there nothing we can start
as Nigerians that will be finished, completed or sustainable?

advocates the journey towards industrialization.
True. Candid words. What is better than following through plans and bringing them to completion
