The Journey to Industrialization has been structured into five interesting headings. Each of these headings is very important for the government at all levels, industrial policymakers, and tertiary institutions. The book deals with the history of many industrial nations of the world and other emerging markets such as Brazil and Singapore. Any nation whose leaders fail to learn from the past has no journey to make into industrialization. Prov 11:26, "People curse the man who holds his grain for higher prices, but they bless the man who sells it to them in their time of need." Is Nigeria being cursed? For several years it has become a custom to deny the needy basic amenities either by hoarding, price hike, selfish purchases and/or the provision of substandard goods. Fuel prices must go up, it must be hoarded and most times adulterated substances are sold. This results in the poor not being able to buy fuel, they have to park their cars and enter public transport. Their efficiency and productivity level drops. Those who don't have vehicles and can't pay for public transport trek, also reducing their efficiency and productivity level. So many who do not have jobs and money die of starvation and frustration. Prov. 20:26, “A wise King stamps out crime by severe punishment” Crime in Nigeria is very high. A group of people are exempted from punishment, some people are specially pardoned, some others are not even questioned at all, while some others do not know the difference between crime, corruption, evil and being good. These special people are the exceptionally rich politicians, public officers and popular artists. Meanwhile, if a poor citizen should commit a crime he would be torn apart. Prov. 14:23, “Work brings profit; talk brings poverty” When most of our time is spent on social media; Facebook, Whatsapp, 2go, BBM, etc, chatting without pulling in a reasonable income, that is poverty! Prov. 23:12, "Don't refuse to accept criticism, get all the help you can' One major criticism local producers get daily is poor quality and low standard of production. I'll advice the critics please be patient, it took Britain 2000 years, it took America 200 years, it took the Asian giants a little above 50 years. Nigerians don't just sit there blaming the few producers we have, we all need to seek an increase in our level of technical knowledge; that is our ability to do things, an increase in our national productivity; that is becoming an exporting country, and also increase our level of industrialization; that is planting various innovative and creative industries.
